Warehouse announces collaboration with Ashish and it’s as sparkly as you’d hope

High street fashion brand Warehouse has announced a collaboration with London Fashion Week designer Ashish. 

For those who aren’t familiar with the brand, Ashish Gupta is one of London’s most exciting designers. Nicknamed as the “king of sequins” he transforms classic silhouettes with disco-ready glamour, loud primary colours and tongue-in-cheek slogans. 

The Delhi-born designer first showed at London Fashion Week in 2005 and subsequently went on to win the New Generation award three times. Now, he boasts a host of high profile personalities as fans, including M.I.A, Madonna, Jerry Hall, Victoria Beckham and Lily Allen.

The upcoming 14-piece collection with Warehouse, which launches in early November, includes a total of 10 items spanning from wardrobe staples like T-shirts and leggings to party-ready pieces such as bandeau dresses and miniskirts that are designed to be worn at night. 

“I wanted to create a really signature capsule collection with lots of sequins, strong clean shapes, dramatic colours – empowering clothes, very classic pieces that are really special, but also fun to wear, and easy to mix into any wardrobe,” Ashish told Vogue on his inspiration. 

The campaign images that have been released so far give us a first look at two items that will feature in the launch: a skin-tight silver catsuit and a banana yellow trench coat, both covered in Ashish’s signature shimmering sequins.

If you still need some persuading, news that price point starts at just £35 might just convince you.

Targeting party season sales, it looks like the high street will be a battle of the sequins this year because, in the very same week that Ashish’s collaboration with Warehouse launches, so does Halpern’s collection with Topshop.

Michael Halpern, who won British Emerging Talent at the Fashion Awards last year, has created his very own glittering dreamland since graduating from Central St Martins in 2016 and garnered a drove of A-list fans including Adwoa Aboah, Amal Clooney and Lupita Nyong’o. 

Translating Halpern’s glamorous aesthetic to the more attainable world of high street fashion, his 28-piece collaboration with Topshop also drops in November and will include everything from neon velvet separates, to sequin-adorned, jumpsuits and disco-ready partywear, all starting from just £35.

The Ashish x Warehouse collection will be available in selected Warehouse stores and online at www.warehouse.co.uk from mid-November 2018.
