Last night, Daniel Cormier successfully defended his heavyweight title in the main event of UFC 230. With the win, Cormier is ready to head into the final fight of his mixed martial arts (MMA) career. That fight will likely be a big money bout against Brock Lesnar.
However, Lesnar still has to fulfill his obligations with the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) before being eligible to fight again. UFC President Dana White was asked after the event if the plan is still to put on Lesnar vs. Cormier in early 2019. Here’s what the UFC boss had to say:
“Should be. I can’t predict anything but yea.”
As for if White has talked to Lesnar recently, he admitted he hadn’t checked his phone since the event ended, but noted Lesnar has been busy doing WWE work:
“I have not talked to Brock tonight but I haven’t looked at my phone either.” White added, “Brock and I haven’t talked in a little while. He was doing his WWE stuff and we’ll see. There’s no timeline.”
